Exhibit #1: The Rock Cycle Powerpoint
Exhibit #1:
Rational
The Rock Cycle power point fulfills the requirement for standard #6. The power point shows my understanding of the rock cycle and the field of science. The power point also shows my ability in Microsoft Power Point and my knowledge of technology. The exhibit covers the basic facts about rocks and how they work together to form the Earth. Power points can be a better way of presenting information and creates a break from the same boring routine of just reading a book, answering questions, and filling out worksheets. Power points are visually stimulating. Slides can be created with custom colors, font, templates, graphics, sounds, motion effects, etc. Power points are easy to attach links to and have them there at a teacher’s convenience, instead of opening several files and folders, and typing in web addresses, which takes up valuable teaching time. Power points are also interesting and a great way of teaching for visual style learners and/or students that are hearing impaired. Students can get involved with power points. Microsoft Power Point is not only limited to teachers, students use power points to create projects, complete assignments, etc. When I begin teaching, power point will be included in my lesson plans. It is a very engaging, convenient, and fun program for teachers and students alike.
