This exhibit is for standard 3. This is an example of a computer use policy that I created in my Microcomputing Education class. In today's society students are more technologically savvy than in years before, and so it is very important to set rules while using computers, as well as, any other technological device. Many times if students have a computer in front of them, they tend to become distracted by Facebook, MySpace, MSN, etc, as well as, websites that are not related to education. This tends to occur more as students get older. It is also as important to keep the computers and the areas around them clean at all times, because they are expensive and many schools whom face poverty can't afford to provide their students with technology. I think if a teacher presented a lesson on poverty in schools and technology, they would appreciate technology and they importance of upkeep more. Many school systems today have their own computer policies set up specifically in the school's handbook, however, it's important to post these in view as most students don't read through a school's handbook. My job as a teacher is to keep as many distractions out of the way to aid in the learning process while also keeping up with the upkeep of the technological devices the students will be using. Using the five rules I have created, I believe my classroom will run efficiently and help to minus the distractions that many teachers face when using technology without guidelines.
